Oliver may have my looks and my personality, but he IS picking up a few things from his father, and George deserves a lot of credit for what he is doing to raise the bar for men everywhere.
For example: One day last week I was telling George that my back hurt, and Oliver asked, “Should Oliver rub Mommy’s back?” Obviously he has seen his (saintly) father rubbing my back EVERY SINGLE EVENING (not just while I’m pregnant, but always) because he knew just what to do. I was speechless with surprise as he proceeded to softly, oh so softly, trace big circles around my back for about 20 seconds, peeking around to watch my face for reaction. I melted under the gentle touch of his little hand. Then he stood back, eyebrows raised expectantly, and asked, “Is that better?”
I gave him a huge adoring hug and said, “Oh, honey, thank you so much… you made my back all better!”
It made him so proud that he’s been giving me a little “back rub” every day since then.
Yes, I know. My boys spoil me. And I love it.

Aww, how sweet! My husband was raised to open doors for women. When we started dating, I was so surprised to see a man who ALWAYS opened doors for me. It turned out that his dad had made him and his brothers open the door for their mom since they could walk! I already told him we’re doing that with any boys with have. You have to start them off young, lol!
