I played along with Laura for her “fall fashion week,” so here is my wrap-up with daily photos!
MONDAY (work day): What can I say? Monday calls for monsters!
Monster nursing scrub top and green scrub pants: Green Scrubs
Tennis shoes: New Balance
Silver teardrop-shaped earrings: American Eagle
Sunglasses (on top of my head): Ann Taylor Loft
TUESDAY (at home): It was a tee-shirt-and-jeans kind of rainy day.
Tee shirt: J.Crew (’07)
Jeans: Gap (bootcut style, ’07)
Argyle socks: J.Crew
Small gold hoop earrings: gift from my mom a few years ago
Silver charm bracelet: I love this little bracelet (see closeup here). It was made in 2007 by someone I found on Etsy.com. I had it personalized with Oliver’s name stamped on a small silver circle and then each number of his birth date (7, 1, 8, 0, 6) on five little silver hearts. There’s also a blue pearl and a blue Swarovski heart at the end.
WEDNESDAY (at home): Oliver decided to co-star with me for this one!
Purple knit top with beading: Ann Taylor Loft (’07)
Chino pants: J.Crew (’07)
Navy ballet flats with blue and pink polka dots: J.Crew (’07)
Silver hoop earrings: Ann Taylor (’07)
Silver charm bracelet: same as on Tuesday
On Oliver: Gymboree shirt, Carter’s pants, and daddy’s shoes
THURSDAY (work day): A “faux wrap” scrub top is about as fancy as I get for work.
Nursing scrubs: ? (not sure)
Tennis shoes: New Balance
Diamond stud earrings from George on our 4th wedding anniversary (’06)
Diamond solitaire necklace from George on our 1st wedding anniversary (’03)
FRIDAY (working an extra day for a co-worker who was off): I wore my Ohio State football colors (I’m a big fan, and my doctor boss is an alumnus AND a big fan), but I didn’t realize this top made me look like a linebacker. Ugh.
Nursing scrub top: ? (not sure)
Gray pants: American Eagle (’05)
Tennis shoes: New Balance
Tiny gold circle necklace: from Etsy.com (I call it my “O for Oliver”
)
OK, enough nursing scrubs!
Here are a couple fall outfits:
Knit top: Ann Taylor Loft (’07)
Black pants: Old Navy (’06)
Black suede t-strap shoes: J.Crew, bought off EBay for cheap! (’06)
George calls this next one my “Lorelai Gilmore” outfit, heh:
White shirt: J.Crew (spring ’08)
Argyle sweater vest: J.Crew (bought 2 weeks ago on sale plus an extra 20% off!)
Gray herringbone pants: Gap (’07)
Brown Mary Jane heels: J.Crew, bought off EBay for cheap! (’06)
And here is what I’m wearing to a Law Alumni dinner with George on Monday (except I SWEAR I’m actually going to do my hair for that!):
Knit top with tie in front (hard to see): Ann Taylor (’07)
Pinstripe skirt: Banana Republic (’07)
Black peep-toe heels: Ann Taylor (’06)
Our finances are very tight lately, so this year’s fall shopping (other than the argyle sweater vest further above) was limited to new outerwear, which I desperately needed.
J.Crew sent me a $50 gift card in early September (woohoo!), which I used to buy this navy blue corduroy jacket:
It’s sooo comfy, just the right weight (lined but not heavy), and I love corduroy in fall.
This cute green jacket is from one of my favorite stores, Ann Taylor Loft (I bought it back in the summer for next year):
I looove this jacket… the color, the 3/4-length sleeves, and the belt!
It was actually fun getting out of my usual sweats (of course George liked it too!) and now I want to do it more often! So thanks for the idea, Laura!
And special thanks to George for being my photographer for the week (despite all those NOT FUNNY OUTTAKES, *AHEM*).
Also, if someone can tell me WHAT TO DO WITH MY ARMS in photos, I would be eternally grateful.

Melissa, 33. I live in Ohio with my husband, George, and our sons,

I have the same maroon v-neck shirt from Ann Taylor too! I have a cleavage problem with it though!
I am so glad vests are big this year!

Sooooooo awesome. You look great! I love the skirt and the gray pants!
We don’t have a J. Crew here
I had the hardest time with arms, too. And I read so many fashion magazines that I thought I had it down… turns out it’s harder than you’d think, modeling fashion!

You have some really cute clothes
I guess I need to check out Ann Taylor Loft after you & Laura mentioned it
I do love j.crew though!!

@Corrie: I admit, I have to use a really small safety pin to prevent the cleavage problem!
@Laura: Thanks! Actually I order J.Crew stuff online, because the nearest one to us is about half an hour away, just down the street from where George works (it’s a city closer to Cleveland). It’s probably a good thing HE works there and not ME, because it would be too tempting to just run over there on my lunch break.
@Stefanie: Thanks!
Shopping is fun—even when it’s just “shopping your own closet” as in my case, hehe.
@Dana: Thank you! I really like Ann Taylor Loft because they have cute stuff that fits well without being too expensive, plus LOTS of sales and coupons. And as you can see, I love J.Crew too.

I love each and every one of your outfits (and shoes). And you look fabulous!
Bobbis last blog post..Weather.. GORGEOUS!

@Priscilla: Thanks! I don’t have very many “dressy” shoes, just five pairs of heels, but they go with everything. And I don’t get to wear them very often so they stay looking like new!
@Jen and @Bobbi: I appreciate the compliments because I think I look chubby in these photos.
I did the 30 Day Shred 3 times this week, and while my weight stayed the same so far, I can really feel the difference in my arms and abs! It is PAINFUL but I’m trying to stick with it!
