is it November yet?

Autumn officially began yesterday, and the change of season is quite a relief. The weather is still mild enough for shorts here, but Oliver and I found acorns and bright red leaves on our walk today. I want to leave this summer behind; I’m more than ready for sweaters and hot chocolate and frost-crisp morning air.

Speaking of sweaters, I’ve decided to play along with Laura and show the world what I’m wearing next week. Such fun! :) Instead of posting daily, I’ll do a wrap-up at the end of the week, with photos of each day’s outfit and information on where I bought the pieces. The weather is still pretty mild here, so I might even post a couple bonus photos of fall outfits I’ll be wearing later. I can’t promise anything spectacular—on two days I’ll just be in nursing scrubs for work, which is borderline cheating because they’re more like pajamas than clothes, hehe—but I promise to at least get out of my usual gym shorts and football team t-shirts on the other days. George will probably wonder who kidnapped his wife and put a nicely dressed clone in her place!

Another project I began today is trying to shed a few pounds. Since last Wednesday’s surgery, I’ve already lost the 4 pounds I gained during my sadly-ended 10 weeks of pregnancy. I’m back down to my pre-pregnancy weight of 146 lb., which is a normal weight for my height (5’7″), but I’d really like to get back down to my spring weight of 142-144 lb. That’s just where I feel best. So I resumed my cardio pilates DVDs (I didn’t use them at all the past 2 weeks, for obvious reasons), but I just ordered the 30-Day Shred (which everyone is raving about) to mix things up a bit. I’d like to reach my goal before we try to get pregnant again, so I probably have at least 8 weeks.

And truthfully, I need every kind of distraction I can get to make these weeks go faster. I thought I’d be too worried to try again right away, but my miscarriage only painfully confirmed how VERY MUCH I want to expand our family, and now I’m counting down the days.

Welcome, fall. Let’s run until our feet hit snow.

Oooh – just got The Shred in the mail yesterday. (I’m a friend of Jen’s by the way!) I’m a little afraid of it, but I am starting it tonight…

Woohoo… I look forward to it. :)

I want to get on the 30 Day Shred bandwagon too. I’m looking at YOU to motivate me. No pressure :-) Seriously though, let us know how much it kills you!

Look forward to seeing your wardrobe! :)
